Mt. Titlis.

Mt. Titlis is a popular peak which is located in the region of the Uri Alps. Mt. Titlis is situated at the border of Bern and Obwaden. previously Mt. Titlis was called Nollen and even Wendenstock.

North of the Susten Pass, Mt. Titlis is the highest summit and it is located in-between Central Switzerland and the Bernese Oberland. From the northern side it is accessible from the Engelberg and is widely known for being the home of the world’s first rotating cable car. The north of massif has the Titlis Glacier and the steep and rocky south face has the Wenden Glacier. While the eastern side of Mt. Titlis has the glacier called Firnalpeligletscher.


Mt. Jungfrau which literally translated to “the virgin” is a mountain which is situated in the Bernese alps and is an integral part of it. It is located at the height of 4158 above sea level and lies between the southern canton of Valais and the northern canton of Bern.

The Jungfrau creates a huge wall which overlooks the Swiss Plateau and the Bernese Oberland. This is one of the reasons why Mt Jungfrau is a special and distinctive part of the beauty of the Swiss Alps.Contrasted are the landscapes of Mt. Jungfrau and the south-easternpartarises from the higher snows of the Aletsch Glacier at the height of almost 3500 m and on the south-east the valley of Aletsch is 20 km long and there are no inhabitants in the entire area. This entire area has the largest glaciated area of the alps and even in the continent of Europe.

The Glacier Express

The Glacier Express is one of the most scenic and beautiful journeys that can be taken via train, not only in the continent of Europe but also across the globe. The Glacier Express is a regular train which runs all throughout the year and that starts from Zermatt which is situated at the toe end of Matterhorn and the Engadin Skiing Area specifically at St Moritz.

The Glacier Express is one of the slowest trains to run in the continent of Europe and has a narrow gauge. The Glacier Express takes more than 7.5 hours to cover a distance of 290 kilometres or 180 miles. Thereby making the average speed of The Glacier Express at 24 miles per hour. However, the spectacle of the panoramic views outside the window of the Swiss Mountain ranges is an absolute dream and while on the train, the passengers can sip on some of the finest white wine originated from Switzerland itself. The Glacier Express is run by the Swiss Railways itself and runs once in one direction each winter and three trains in one direction every summer.

The Rhine Falls

The Rhine Falls is one of the largest waterfalls across the globe while being the undisputed largest in the continent of Europe. Located in Switzerland on the High Rhine, which is in between the cities of Zurich and Schaffhausen, at the border itself.

The Rhine Falls has a height of 23 metres or 75 feet and is over 150 metres wide or 490 feet wide. Due to the enormity of the falls the fish cannot climb up the waterfall however the eels can make their way up the monstrous rocks.During the months of the Summer season the water flow is thrice as much as that of the winter due to the extreme climatic conditions in the latter. Thereby making the summer season the best time to visit The Rhine Falls.

La Maison du Gruyère

La Maison du Gruyère is situated at the centre of the pastures of the Alps and at the toe end of the Chateau de Gruyeres. The speciality here is the king of cheese also known as Le gruyere AOP. The factory has an interactive session and an exhibition which lets the customer enter their world of cheese. The gallery can be visited from two to four times per day.

Cailler chocolate

The Callier Chocolate factory is one of the most amusing places in Switzerland and they too like the cheese factories have an interactive tour. They provide each visitor with a headset in which the tour details and information can be heard in upto 13 different languages. The entire tour shows the history of production of Callier Chocolate and it also enables the visitors to make their own

chocolates under the guidance and supervision of an expert chocolate maker.
